Many many thanks to Rich and Polly Alllsmiller (Tom's parents) as well as Typhoon Tommy's lovely wife Kari. This family is rich in Disney history and is always a pleasure to spend time with them over a mai tai at the "Poly" and listen to stories! Not to be outdone, Kari is a founding member of the Magical Tiki Meetup here in Florida that organizes Tiki gatherings at WDW's Magic Kingdom. All 3 have have been a positive influence on Tom, allowing him to be the "Escape Artist" he is today!
Huge mahalo to Vernon, who has selflessly helped out during this build by giving us his free weekends and even taking time off from work to help Typhoon Tommy whenever needed! Mananui is grateful.
Tiki Don is an avid collector of nautical salvage, tiki carvings, mugs and adventure decor. He owns The Domestic Tiki with his wife Ally and works to preserve historic tiki establishments such as the Mai-Kai in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is also a business management consultant who has worked in several industries. You can find him vending at tiki events across the country or on the Facebook group Tiki Don's Mug Trading Madness. Mahalo Don for helping get this site up and running for our tiki and Disney community!
Mananui would not have turned out the way it has if it weren't for the Shandick Ohana that helped collect and haul the Family tikis, carvings, photos and nautical salvaged treasures from San Diego all the way across country to Florida. Much gratitude to Josh, Amy and little Darby
Thanks to George for getting our plumbing sorted in the newly remodeled bathroom at Mananui! Tiki ohana are the best I must say! He also has an awesome home tiki bar" Nui Keoki's Enchanted Grotto" here in Florida. Check it out in the link below!
Scott has graciously donated one of his prized Poly Shield mirrors which previously resided at the Disney Polynesian Resort which now has a new home in Mananui's bathroom! Look around and you'll find many pieces that have made their way here from the Poly. A classic favorite of our Disney/Tiki inspirations. Check out Scott's recent Home Tiki Bar spotlight on YouTube for his home bar the Kahiki Hideaway in the link below! - Mahalo Scott!
